| DESCRIPTION Tirial is tall and slight with pointed ears that are usually hidden behind a curtain of dark, wavy hair. She has long, thin limbs, and nimble fingers. Her hair falls about to her shoulder blades in wavy ripples. She's growing it out. It's dark brownish black, lighter at the roots than at the ends. Her eyes are very big and hazel. Long, dark lashes frame them, and they sit below delicate but expressive eyebrows. Tirial has an oval face with a small chin and nose. She has full lips and soft, pretty cheeks. There isn't so much as a freckles on them, either. She is a tall girl, but grateful and lithe. She's got a curvy build. PERSONALITY Tirial it's a curious, adventurous girl. She likes to try new things and learn things by doing them. She also has a tendency to leap without looking. In general she's fairly responsible but sometimes she does rash things. She is also a very caring person, with great empathy for other people. That doesn't mean she won't kick her opponent's butt in a battle. It means if you're her friend, and you're crying, she'll want to help (and may or may not agree to stay out of it). Typically she follows the rules, but sometimes her rebellious side pops up. She tends to rebel against direct, "you will obey or I keel you!" orders, because in her mind, they're unreasonable. Tirial believes in rational policies and rules that make sense (well, that make sense to her. In her mind, a time that doesn't make sense to her is a silly rule). Tirial it's very selfless. She'd give you her last... whatever without a backyard glance, although she'd be extremely unlikely to allow a returned favor. She's very modest, too. It is rare indeed that she will take praise and rarer still that she'll accept any reward. Tirial it's relatively innocent and naive; she doesn't know everything that is going on, and she doesn't fully understand all the politics involved. She has been living a fairly sheltered life. This may have been the reason she was willing to talk to a demon late at night. She sees the light in everyone, and hadn't had many bad experiences to wear down this trusting innocence, at least, not yet. A checkerboard is a good metaphor for her personality. Right now, she's a piece standing on a white square. But it would take only a little force to push her over to the black squares. Tirial is a conflicted young lady. She had good and evil in her. Right now, she's on the good side. But she could switch sides easily. She wonders if dark elves are so bad after all. STRENGTHS Archery. Tirial loves to shoot arrows with a bow, and she's good at it, too. Healing. Tirial is a skilled healer, like most elves. Music. She's a soprano singer, and dances sometimes too. Thinking Things Through. She's a bit of a rash person; she sometimes forgetting to stop and think. Reading/Writing. She loves both. WEAKNESSES Animals. For whatever reason, she has just never gotten along too well with them. Math. Oh, numbers. Tirial doesn't really understand math concepts beyond the concrete; concepts like variables in algebra confuse her. Hand to Hand Combat. Tirial doesn't really do well in things like karate and jujitsu. She doesn't like hitting stuff! Cooking. Are those muffins supposed to be on fire? Taking advice. Tirial learns the hard way. She likes to do her own thing, and learn her lessons herself. HISTORY Tirial is the elf princess. Her mother, the elf queen Elnisreth, gave birth to her in secret. The queen didn't want her to grow up with her father, the king Kalel, and possibly inherit his cruelty. The maid Lerth took the baby girl away. Tirial has never met her mother, and really sees Lerth more as her mother figure. She wants to meet her actual biological mother, and wonders if her father is as bad as he seems. Of course she can see the state of the kingdom, but she thinks maybe Thyis is responsible, and Kalel is only an innocent caught in the crossfire. Anyway. Tirial was raised in a small town in her parent's kingdom. As a child she was fun loving little girl who loved to sing and dance. She was trained to be able to defend herself from a young age, although she didn't have any love for, or great ability in, hand to hand combat. She's very small, and it's not an advantage. However, she found she was a good shot with a bow, and loved the weapon, too. Bows quickly became her weapons of choice, although she'd never really been in a battle. She does hunt with bows and arrows, though. How different can a human be from a quail, she reckons. When she was about sixteen, she was up late. She looked out her window and noticed a wounded man in the street. Rushing out, she brought him in and healed in. She didn't recognize what he was partially because she didn't have training, and partially because she was more concerned with his wounds. She didn't think he was an elf, though, so she decided it was prudent to hide his presence from Lerth. Under her care he recovered, and they talked often. In fact, they became friends. His name was Korir. Tirial suspected that he was what he was, but found to her surprise found she didn't really care. And she told him so, when he told her what he was- A demon. Their friendship didn't end. In fact, it continued. She snuck him food, and hung out with him whenever she could get away. At first she was worried Lerth suspected her activities. But gradually she realized, again, that she didn't care. Korir was just... Korir. It didn't matter to Tirial that he was demon. It wouldn't have mattered to her if he was a chocolate covered slug! She liked him for his personality. He was good inside... Even if he was a demon. This has been going on up to the present. Lerth is still in the dark, as Tirial and her demon friend Korir have chosen not to reveal their friendship to her. Won't that just just make the backlash worse when it comes? Yes... but that's later. |
