Species: Movmátia
Description: First, the name. Movmátia is actually two Greek words smashed together into one. The words mov mátia mean purple eyes, which is actually a pretty good description of the species. As an additional note, the word Movmátia is like sheep or fish or moose in that it can be singular, or plural, without any change.
Now to the creatures themselves. All Movmátia used to be human. But at age fifteen, they will experience what is called the Change but anyone in the know. It is extremely painful and takes about a day. The Movmátia isn't actually a Movmátia until it's done. Before they are just humans. After the Change, all Movmátia have deep purple eyes. Most have dark hair. All have very pale skin that never has any blemishes, freckles included. Movmátia are incapable of digesting any type of food or drink. They get energy from sunlight, like plants. Most Movmátia are thin and tall, although there are exceptions.
Abilities: All Movmátia: As Movmátia take energy from the sun, they have some special abilities that only show when it's sunny. In sunlight they have better speed, strength, stamina, and senses. In general Movmátia favor hand to hand combat because they, do to the vision issues very common of the species, have bad aim with long distance weapons and have a tendency to behead each other accidentally because they can't tell each other apart. Movmátia are known for being talented musicians, especially when it's sunny, and they can swim pretty well (because sunlight travels through water fairly well, so they can still get its benefits). Now, there is a very small group of Movmátia, the Movmátia Mefterá (the added word is from the two Greek words, me fterá, and mean with wings), who can fly using large feathered wings. These Movmátia are the ruling class and very rare.
Weaknesses: Movmátia burn easily in sunlight, but they can't live without it. All of them are scared of the dark, as they can die from a lack of light. Most if not all Movmátia have vision issues. Movmátia will be violently sick if they eat or drink anything. The Change when they become Movmátia is very painful and can cause physiological scars. Movmátia tend to be fairly weak physically, partially because without glasses many of them literally can't see beyond their noses. Movmátia are very weak at night because sunlight is their primary energy source. On cloudy days they sometimes get grumpy. They are good swimmers at surface level but down deep, where sunlight doesn't reach, they will often panic and can sometimes endanger themselves this way. They also tend to strongly dislike artificial light such as light bulbs, sort of like how humans prefer clean water to brackish water. The Movmátia Mefterá have one additonal and that is that they have hollow bones, which makes them much more fragile.
Status: Playable
Limited? Yes and no. The normal Movmátia are unlimited but ruling Movmátia Mefterá are because they are rare.
Alliance: Neutral
